The Mary Valley Rattler line was built over 100 years ago when railways dominated the landscape.

The welcome sound of the steam engine as it rolled into the station connecting the railway towns and the Mary Valley communities and bringing families together. For many settlers coming to this area, they arrived into Old Gympie Station and stepped off the train to embrace a new beginning.

The fleet of trains on the Mary Valley Rattler line delivered cream, dairy, wood products, pineapples and general produce.

The Mary Valley is again being connected by rail with the Mary Valley Rattler soon to hit the tracks again and stop in the quaint rural towns of Dagun and Amamoor, creating an unforgettable living heritage experience for our guests
