Rattler Operations Manager to take on acting GM Position

23rd May 2019

Mary Valley Rattler Assets and Operations Manager Micheal Green has been appointed to the position of
acting General Manager for the Rattler Railway Company.
His appointment follows the resignation of David Thompson, who is leaving to take up an InternationalImg 8421 2
opportunity.

Rattler Railway Company Chairman Ian McNicol said Rattler Railway Company wished Mr Thompson well
and thanked him for his contribution to the Rattler since his appointment three months ago, as it continues to
build from strength to strength.
He said Mr Green has been with the Rattler since September 2018, joining the team in the lead up to the
start of railway operations in October last year.

“Micheal has over 40-years of experience in rail operations and is fully across all aspects of Rattler
operations,” Mr McNicol said.

Mr Thompson said he had really enjoyed his time with the Rattler, but that his international opportunity was
too good to pass up.

“The Rattler is a unique attraction that showcases the region and is also a great opportunity for visitors to see
local community spirit, through all the volunteers working within the organisation,” Mr Thompson said.

“I would like to thank everyone for their support and look forward to following the Rattler as it continues to
gain a reputation for excellence.”

Mr McNicol said since launching in October, the Rattler had extended train services to five days a week, and
welcomed over 17,000 guests, with more than 85% of them coming from outside Gympie Region.

“We have also held a very successful series of special events trains and have even more planned throughout
the year.”
